Bryansburn Rangers 4-0 PSNI

Bryansburn Rangers made the perfect start to their pre-season campaign with an impressive 4-0 victory away from home.

The visitors settled into the game well and opened the scoring when Rory Cubbon delivered an inviting ball into the penalty area, where a well-timed header found the back of the net to give Rangers an early advantage.

The lead was doubled through Josh Patterson, who finished confidently with a low-driven effort after being played through by an excellent assist from Dylan Montgomery.

Montgomery then got on the scoresheet himself in spectacular fashion, scoring directly from an attacking corner to put Bryansburn firmly in control before adding his second of the afternoon with a superb curling effort from a wide position that nestled into the far corner to complete an excellent team performance.

The match gave the coaching staff another valuable opportunity to assess the squad, with several new signings making positive contributions and the team showing encouraging signs ahead of the new season.

Manager Andy Wallace was delighted with what he saw from his players.

"It was a really pleasing performance for our first pre-season fixture. The result is always nice, but the most important thing was seeing the work we've been doing in training transferred onto the pitch.

"There were some excellent passages of play, our intensity was good and the players showed a real willingness to work for each other. We scored four very different goals, which highlights the variety we've got in the squad.

"It's still very early in pre-season and there's plenty to improve, but the attitude, commitment and quality shown today were exactly what we wanted. We'll keep working hard and continue building towards the start of the season."

Bryansburn Rangers now turn their attention to the next stage of their pre-season schedule as preparations continue ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
