2017 Colts Impress Again in Development League Action

Ballysillan Swifts

The young Rangers side made a flying start despite the challenging conditions, producing an excellent display to secure victory against Ballysillan Swifts.

Wyatt was outstanding between the posts, making a number of excellent saves to keep his side in control, while Rory produced a commanding defensive performance and proved difficult to break down throughout the game.

The team's continued development was evident in their shape, structure and use of width. Freddie was a constant threat down one flank and was rewarded with a superb goal direct from a corner, while Otis finished off a flowing team move to add a second. In midfield, Caiden acted as the team's driving force, dictating play and linking defence and attack with maturity beyond his years.

Woodvale FC

The second game saw the Colts take on a strong Woodvale FC side, and although they were unfortunate not to come away with another victory, the boys produced another excellent performance.

Thomas was solid in goal, while Eddie impressed with some determined defensive work. Sam provided tireless box-to-box support, combining strong tackling with positive forward play. Otis continued his fine form, scoring his second goal of the day with a powerful strike into the roof of the net.

Player of the Match

Otis was named Player of the Match after an outstanding display across both fixtures. Stepping up confidently to the 7-a-side format, he demonstrated excellent work rate in both attack and defence and capped off his performance with two superb goals.

With one week remaining before the end of the season, the 2017 Colts can be proud of the progress they have made throughout the campaign and will be looking to finish strongly in their final round of fixtures.
